One thing that has become apparent in these last few months for many of us is our obsession with comfort.
We all just want things to go back to what we were used to. I wonder how many times this thought passed through the minds of the Israelites as they traveled through the desolation of the wilderness.
Does it not feel like a weight is stuck in our very core, and our minds continue to try and convince us of alternate paths to the ending of all of the confusion and transition we are facing.
When I wrote The Compass Series five years ago, I did not understand what I was doing or what its full purpose was. I was simply directed to write and what came out was a powerful story that unveils the human heart and reveals God’s heart and desire for our freedom in Him.
We are in a contraction. There is pressure being applied to all of us. This pressure from situations beyond our control is revealing our love affairs with pride, fear, deceit, lust, greed, and many others. It seems that it has become more difficult to hide the realities that have for so long stayed hidden in the closets and compartments of our soul.

We are promised many things in the Bible, but one promise that we tend to avoid is the promise of pain, trial and persecution. If you follow Jesus, these will be a part of your journey.
