The Invitation of pain
The way of the world is obvious. Avoid discomfort and pain at all cost.
We are promised many things in the Bible, but one promise that we tend to avoid is the promise of pain, trial and persecution. If you follow Jesus, these will be a part of your journey.
Godly wisdom leads us not to shy away from the pain of life, but to stand in the midst of it.

The only way to defeat fear...
here are many tactics that are being promoted for appeasing, suppressing, and even partnering with fear.
We play worship music nonstop, we pin up scripture verses all around us and we declare and fight for breakthrough in our difficulties all for the sake of trying to conquer an enemy who has us by the throat.
There is a song that I wrote years ago that personifies fear and explains his tactics against us. (I’m attaching it to this blog). The interesting thing to me is that the most damaging way that fear works is the one that is the least noticed.
It’s called, ‘what if’. And in this simple statement that passes through our minds like a phantom, we are all prey to its leadings.

I was reminded the other day of the power of the Lord's Prayer. It is so simple and yet so good at pinpointing where our hearts need to be in our approach to God.

Isn’t it incredible to come to the understanding that we have been invited into a spiritual family that is in essence even truer than our natural biological family. Our Heavenly Father desires to teach us all that it is to be a true child. The question is, Will you trust and obey?
